Quality management systems are established in every successful business
in some shape or form and certification demonstrates the management commitment to
maintaining “best practice”.

Quality management systems can be simply considered in two sections;
those aspects necessary to perform a chosen business activity (process) and those
aspects needed to measure and control those processes (system). Process activities
are normally very well understood and usually only the system elements need attention.
|
|
|
|
To successfully demonstrate a quality management system a business
must define its quality objectives (minimise re-work, complaints and so on) and
have developed routines that ensure – and are proven to ensure – that those aims
are met. Regular review is essential.
